WE HAVE NEW BABY CHICKS!

On Monday we had a nest of chicks hatch! There are 8 total and they are all healthy, cute and fuzzy. The mother hen is one of our semi-wild chickens so the nest is outside of the chicken pen. We will not pull the chicks and raise them inside, but instead just let mama hen raise them and let nature take it's course. We'll see how many survive the predator gauntlet-mainly mongooses, feral cats, and Hawaiian hawks.

HORSES

We have two horses boarding in our pasture (in exchange for our cows-who have been fence jumping and cruising in greener pastures-in their pastures). Kyle absolutely loves the horses and we feed them a few hay cubes every day.

We try to visit the restaurant and daddy every day. It is the highlight of Kyle's day! He especially loves the vacuum and helps to coil up the cord.

ODD CRITTERS COMING HOME FROM SOUTH POINT

On our way home from South Point we were all a bit tired but I was pretty sure I was NOT seeing things when we saw this cow with crazy long horns. after turning around we got a much better look at what turned out to be 2 Watusi cattle (African Longhorns), a small Buffalo and a ZEBRA! Right by the road. Must be some wild animal sanctuary but no one seems to know anything about it.................................I want the longhorns!

BUBBLES

Kyle and Peanut have a new game....BUBBLES! Kyle sets up the bubble maker, turns it on, and it is an instant Peanut exerciser! He chases bubbles until there are no more! And when the bubbles run out, he will just stare at it intensely, like he is trying to will the bubbles out! It is the funniest thing.

SOUTH POINT TRIP

The day after Beck & Mike arrived we embarked on our 'round the island, South Point trip. The main goal of the road adventure was to visit Auntie Thalia & Uncle Joe's new abode down at South Point. It was a total of 7+ hours in the car (total) but Kyle did great with help from his "travel buddy", Mike, who passed him food, drink, and entertained him when he got bored. Beck & I did all the driving. Once we got down to Auntie's, we met Tom & Diane who decided to come down also, got the house and land tour, played with the critters, had a birthday lunch (both Beck and Tom celebrate their birthdays in January) then headed down to South Point proper which was gorgeous! It was a very long, but very fun day!
