CHICK UPDATE

After 2 weeks we are now down to 6 chicks. We started with 8 so I think that's pretty good considering they are just wild roaming chicks that I feed twice a day. The mom is a really good hen-very protective. One just disappeared and the other we found today in the jaws of Peanut, our Jack Russel terror. Actually, he's been a very good dog and this is the first thing he has killed. It was very dead but not eaten, interestingly. He was using it like a nasty chew toy or something. I made Chris take it away from him. I was sad but it's just part of the whole raising animals thing. Casualties will happen. But I think Peanut will get tied up when we leave the house until the chicks get a bit bigger. Those little peeping yellow balls of fluff are just to irresistible for a terrier!

I love this fish! I was always hoping to see one on a Blue Water Night Dive and I DID (we think)! But it was a minuscule juvenile-NOT one of these cool full grown adults! I will keep dreaming and hoping..............
