SLASHER BABY!

We had our first real "accident" the other day. Basically, KYLE RODE HIS CAR THROUGH A BARBED WIRE FENCE. He was pretty shook up when we got to him, shirt torn and slightly bloody gashes on his head, ear and chest. The scariest thing was the blood pooling in his ear. We realized quickly that it was just from a scratch and that the slashes were all superficial and the howling (from Kyle) was mostly out of fear. All our nerves were a bit rattled and I only started to cry when I realized he was going to be fine (and he was out of ear shot). It was very hard to see my "baby" all scratched up and bleeding! But after some food and a good bath we all felt better and Kyle slept through the night with out a peep. The next morning he was right back in his car, ready for more action and he hasn't looked back since! I'm sure it was just the first of many to come.....................
BEACH FUN!

Chris's sis, Lawrie Ann, and her girls came over for the week so of course we had to do a BEACH DAY! Lawrie and I, Kyle, and his 4 cousins took off for Spencer Beach on a beautiful, hot summer day in Hawaii. The highlights were: BEACH TOYS, BEING BURIED (and throwing sand at the buried people), SITTING IN THE WAVES, and, of course, EATING SAND. Kyle was one giant sand ball by the end of the day. We all had an absolute BLAST!
GOOD TO SEE AMY B!

About 2 months ago (that is how behind I have been) my dear friend from forever, Amy Blumenfield, came out to visit. We first met through Dive Makai when she became a client of ours. 100's of dives, 3 dive trips, moves, changes of jobs, me becoming a mom and many laughs and tears later Amy came back to the Big Isl for a visit. Needless to say, it was great to catch up and awesome to spend some time together again! Here are some cool pix from the visit when we went waterfall sight seeing!
PS-hers was the first Blog I ever viewed. She's one of those "super-cool" computer geeks!
MY FISH AND OTHER CUTE PIX!
THE PURRRRR..........

One of Kyle's newest "things" is he loves to listen to everything. And I mean he loves to put his ear on something and REALLY listen. It started when I handed him a clock that was ticking (remember those?). Then he moved on to the dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator...you get the picture. But it became really charming when he was playing with Fat Alex (our 17lb cat) and discovered the purrrrrr...........................Alex put up with it for a bit, then practised boxing with Kyle's head! Kyle still does it. But the pix tell the story better then I could. It was one of those times when being a parent is truly amazing, surprising, humorous and just downright sweet.
OUR NAUGHTY KITTY

Most of you know that Crux, our tiger-stripe Tabby, is a very naughty kitty. Here is a story to support the point........
So the other day, around 11:00am, I realized that I hadn't seen Crux for quite a while. I checked in all his usual snoozing places since, let's face it, cats sleep for 18+ hours a day-I swear our cat Fat Alex sleeps for 23.5. He was no where to be found. I went in to our bathroom to see if he was on top of the cupboard and saw a bit of clutter on the floor next to the big cabinet (see first pic). Now, this clutter could only be from: 1) Kyle 2) Peanut or 3)the cats. I was pretty sure Kyle or Peanut would have left more destruction. So I guessed where Crux had gone. And when I opened up the cabinet, there he was, in all his glory. Bottles had been tipped over, hair elastics were everywhere, all my jewelry was scattered, boxes were chewed and, mingling freely with all the mess, was about a pound of CAT HAIR! Apparently, after the fun was over, Crux started to stress shed....all through out the cabinet. Hair and destruction on every level. He couldn't get out since all our cabinets have baby-proof locks on them. Since the last time I was in the bathroom was around 7:ooam he must have been in there for 4 hours! I guess I was lucky all he left was cat hair and a mess to clean up! He was pretty happy to get out of the cabinet, and NO, he has not been back since!
