UPDATE ON PEANUT THE PUPPY!

Peanut, our Jack Russell pup, is growing unbelievably fast and doing well. He is 4 months old and we are about 70% house trained (thanks to crate training!) which is more than I can say for the kid! He and Kyle have a love/hate relationship. Peanut LOVES Kyle when he has food or a toy. Kyle knows exactly how to tease the pup with toys and his leash. But they do both share their food and toys, as much as you'd expect a one and a half year old and a puppy to share. Kyle specializes in bringing Peanut something, like one of his toys, or daddy's expensive one-of-a-kind book brought back all the way from Portugal, and then Peanut chews it up while Kyle cries since he can't get it back. It is never ending fun and games. The pup also loves to chase the kitties, tearing around the house, knocking things over, hissing and barking, which they absolutely despise. Even Crux, our extrovert cat, is getting tired of having his fur pulled out, and just generally mauled, by the pup. Of course, every day Peanut has to get in a bit of chicken chasing, and to top it off he loves to steal grain from the cows (to all those cowboys who told me "all cows HATE dogs"-take a look at these pix!). So, all and all, Peanut is growing up to be a fine young dog, doing all the doggy things that make dogs, well....dogs! And he is a happy, fun addition to the farm and the family.

PS-Monday we go to the vet for the "BIG" operation....snip snip! Wish him luck!
