Last weekend Kyle & I with Mimi and cousin Isaiah (Josh was sick) packed our bags and headed over to the big city (Oahu) for a visit with Auntie
Lawrie and Uncle Kevin and cousins
Savana and Nicole. It was nonstop go from the minute we landed until the flight home with Kyle burning the candle at both ends, staying up until almost midnight and waking raring to go at 6:00 am! The fun started with
Savana's end of the season soccer game (which the girls won!) and some quick sliding on the playground
jungle gym, then on to the Waldorf School fair where Kyle spent at least two hours going up and down a huge slide (forget the pony rides or face painting or all the other cool games they had-it was all sliding for this boy!) and napping right through an awesome concert by local music star,
Makana. Dinner was Kyle's first trip to the famous
Chuck E Cheese's, where he found yet another slide and a mildly annoying
Teletubbies ride of which he sat on the floor of for about 10 rides. The next day we were bouncing between the Bishop Museum Family Fun Day, where Kyle became utterly obsessed with the giant bouncy castles (what a surprise!?!), the
Megladon shark exhibit (I really liked that) and on to the Children's Activity Center which is 3 stories of creative roll playing fun. Kyle, of course, found a few more slides there to obsess over, but managed to cover all three stories anyway. Finally. and sadly, it was time to go home. When we arrived at the airport all the computers had crashed! After an hour of waiting in a frustrating line and trying to keep a toddler entertained, we missed our flight but miraculously, Mimi got us on the next flight home, and of course they lost our baggage on the way! So we arrived in
Hilo a bit late and very tired but what a wonderful weekend!

Kyle checking out the soccer team

Practicing with the soccer ball.

Good balance!

Nicole helping Kyle out with his balance ball.

Kyle and Isaiah playing with hat.

"I want the hat!"

"See how cool I look in the hat!?"

"And mommy's sunglasses......"
Savana's soccer team finished FIRST in their league!

Playing in the tree!

Kyle became utterly obsessed with slides......

He was fearless if there was a slide around.

But wasn't above sharing the ride!

A tired toddler.........

At the Waldorf School fair, recharging........

For more outdoor fun.......

And yes, MORE sliding!

About 2 hours of obsessive sliding..............

What a blast!

Sharing the ride with cousin Nicole.
Makana, a very popular and very good
hawaiian artist performed for free at the Waldorf fair!

The ladies watching
Makana perform-note Kyle sound asleep in the stroller!

Little ladies dancing to the jams of
Makana.

Mimi and Kyle...still crashed out!
Savana and Isaiah jousting.

The jousters whacking
each other!

End of the fair with a wiped out toddler!

Next it was dinner at
Chuck E Cheese! Mimi giving it a go with
Lawrie looking on and laughing!

Playing on yet another slide!

In the "toddler zone" with
Savana.

Kyle liked this
Teletubbies ride but he would only sit on the bottom.

Kyle and the girls going for a ride.

Nicole and Kyle and the
Teletubbies (at least the ride made animal noises)!

Kyle was not to thrilled with the carousel....I think he lasted 20 seconds!

But he really enjoyed this driving game with cousin
Savana!

Nothing beats the real thing, though!
Kickin' it in the driver's seat with Mimi looking on!

The girls on the climbing wall at the Bishop Museum Family Fun Day.
Savana half way to the top!
Savana made it and Nicole was on her way!

Then there was bouncy castle madness!

Kyle loved the giant bouncy castle almost as much as his slides!
WHEEEEEEEEE............

Kyle and new bouncy friend.

The little guys spent most of their bouncy time off their feet............

But they still loved it!

Everyone up and bouncing.

This is the best fun!

Isaiah on the crazy spinny ride.

Kyle, Savana and Mimi take a break to ride the choo choo train.

The Megladon exhibit was cool. Here's the family in the "jaws" of an ancient Megladon.

Replica of an ancient type of shark.

More replicas.........

Look at all those teeth!

I loved the grouper skull!

Kyle with a new friend at the Activity Center.

This red car became one of Kyle's obsessions at the Activity Center.

The "bank teller" window with an ATM giving out "money" was a huge hit with the kids.

Of course, Kyle found a slide and loved that!

Sharing a slide ride with Nicole.

Cute kid..............

Loving the big drum!

Kyle trying to figure out where to go next.

Ship captain like mommy, grandma Lisa or grandpa Tom?

Or bus driver in India?

How about some Japanese food?

It's all set up and ready to go!

The kids loved the "food preparation" areas.

Then on to maybe some construction?

"Naw, I just like the hat!"

Sadly, it was time to head home on the big birdie! Isaiah kept Kyle entertained with the barf bags.

And just good old fashioned fun.

Isaiah's self portrait with Kyle on the flight home.

Laughing all the way home!
